Job Summary
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive our growth across North America, including Canada and US.
This full-time, permanent contract role is based in Canada (remote), with regular travel to the US Midwest including Detroit, Chicago and the wider region.
This is a high-impact commercial role focused on building relationships and expanding our footprint with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and engineering partners across North America.
The role is ideal for someone who understands propulsion systems or engine engineering and is ready to step into (or grow further in) a commercial, customer-facing position.
You might be:

A technically strong engineer (ICE, powertrain, fluids, thermodynamics) looking to move into business development

Or an experienced commercial professional with credible technical understanding in automotive or simulation environments
Main responsibilities
Reporting to the Global Commercial Director, your main responsibilities would be:

Develop and grow new business across North America

Build relationships with engineering and commercial stakeholders

Deliver technical discussions, presentations, and solution demos

Support proposals, pricing, and negotiations

Act as a bridge between customers and internal engineering/product teams
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
-
Engineering degree (Mechanical, Automotive, Powertrain, Fluid-Thermal preferred) with at least 3+ years post qualification experience

Strong understanding of engines, propulsion systems, or vehicle development

Experience in business development, technical sales, or engineering roles with customer exposure

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Interest in moving between engineering and commercial environments

Comfortable working remotely with international teams

Willingness to travel regularly within North America
