Job Summary

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive our growth across North America, including Canada and US.

This full-time, permanent contract role is based in Canada (remote), with regular travel to the US Midwest including Detroit, Chicago and the wider region.

This is a high-impact commercial role focused on building relationships and expanding our footprint with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and engineering partners across North America.

The role is ideal for someone who understands propulsion systems or engine engineering and is ready to step into (or grow further in) a commercial, customer-facing position.

You might be:

  • A technically strong engineer (ICE, powertrain, fluids, thermodynamics) looking to move into business development

  • Or an experienced commercial professional with credible technical understanding in automotive or simulation environments

Main responsibilities

Reporting to the Global Commercial Director, your main responsibilities would be:

  • Develop and grow new business across North America

  • Build relationships with engineering and commercial stakeholders

  • Deliver technical discussions, presentations, and solution demos

  • Support proposals, pricing, and negotiations

  • Act as a bridge between customers and internal engineering/product teams

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Automotive, Powertrain, Fluid-Thermal preferred) with at least 3+ years post qualification experience

  • Strong understanding of engines, propulsion systems, or vehicle development

  • Experience in business development, technical sales, or engineering roles with customer exposure

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Interest in moving between engineering and commercial environments

  • Comfortable working remotely with international teams

  • Willingness to travel regularly within North America
