Job summary

The Business Development Associate for mechanical software products is responsible for supporting the Business Development Manager in driving the growth of our mechanical software products in the designated region. This role involves assisting in identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and supporting sales strategies to achieve sales targets for mechanical software solutions.

Key responsibilities & job duties

Business Development Support

  • Assist the Business Development Manager in identifying and developing new business opportunities.

  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, potential clients, and their needs.

  • Support in maintaining a pipeline of qualified prospects and tracking sales opportunities.

Sales Support

  • Collaborate with the Business Development Manager in developing and implementing effective sales strategies.

  • Assist in preparing tailored sales proposals and presentations for prospective clients.

  • Support in negotiating and closing deals with clients, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.

Client Relationship Management

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers within client organizations.

  • Provide support and service to existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction.

  • Gather feedback from clients to inform product development and improve service delivery.

Technical Assistance

  • Maintain a good knowledge of mechanical software products, features, and applications.

  • Assist in staying updated on industry trends and competitor activities.

  • Provide technical consultations and demonstrations to clients as part of the sales process, under the guidance of the Business Development Manager.

Collaboration and Reporting

  • Work closely with the Business Development Manager to align sales strategies with product offerings and market positioning.

  • Assist in gathering and analyzing market data, providing insights to sales strategies and identify potential growth opportunities.

  • Support in preparing sales reports and forecasts, summarizing key findings and recommendations for the management team.

  • Collaborate with the product development and marketing teams to provide feedback from client interactions, aiding in the enhancement of product features and service delivery for software solutions.

  • Participate in relevant industry events and forums, representing the company and promoting our software offerings to potential clients and partners.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or degree in Marketing, Business Administration or relevant field. A master's degree or relevant technical qualifications would be advantageous.

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English. Additional languages are a plus.

  • Some experience in sales or business development, preferably in the software or technology sector.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical software applications and the engineering design process.

  • Knowledge of commercial FE software such as Abaqus, ANSYS, Nastran, and Multi Body Simulation (MBS) software such as Simpack, VALDYN, Adams, FEV Virtual Dynamics, as well as mechanical software such as Romax, MASTA, AVL-Excite, is a significant plus.

  • Good communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to understand and convey basic technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales management tools.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required to support business objectives.
